Well, I've turned in the first draft of my book. And my editor has read it and called me and left me a message that makes it clear that she's not firing me. So, hell, a book might actually come out at some point. The title is "Cleaving," and it looks like they're preparing for a May '09 release date, so there you are.
Whew.
Now for that master cleanse. Aaaaannnnyyy day now.

Your writing cracks my ass up. In approximately 12 minutes I will have finished reading Julie/Julia. Bought the book on a discount table at Border's -- mostly because I liked the turquoise cover and ducky whisk. (Also, it was $4.99 and I pretty much buy any harcover book at that price point ... especially if it's turquoise.)

Prior to reading your tart and aspic treatise, my fave writer in the kitchen was Laurie Colwin.

I actually feel the same way about your books as I felt about Harry Potter. I read them like a maniac and then freak out for a year in between waiting for the next one. So thank God you're publishing another book. I just finished your first one. My real estate agent gave it to me.

ReplyDeleteI swear, I am so friggin' late to this party (just having finished the Child project book, like, yesterday ...) that it's got me wondering what else has happened in the world that I simply MUST know.
OK ... so if Meryl Streep is playing Julia, who is slated to play you? Let me guess: Julia Roberts? She's a little long in the tooth, but I suppose they'll just put her in some cute office-type clothes and give her lots of ponytails and messy updo's while she's in the kitchen. *(Please let it be ANY other actress than J.R. I hate watching her on the big screen ... yuck!!!!!!!!)
One last question: When is the movie coming out? Must mark my calendars now.
I did the Master Cleanse once. It was... an experience.
ReplyDeleteI was going to do it again recently, but then I actually read the literature from the guy who created it. Dude is NUTSO! He thinks that people were only meant to eat berries and anyone who doesn't eat nothing but berries is filthy and horrible and doomed to a slow and somehow sudden death. I wouldn't take him or his diet seriously. Plus, the human body is built to naturally rid itself of toxins, so unless your liver is malfunctioning, you should be ok in the toxin-control department.
