Hello Seattle!

So, last time I was in Seattle, I wasn't entirely convinced, but I think now I can say I'm a fan. Not that I've eaten a thing or really seen much of anything outside my hotel room, yet. But everyone has been great and down to earth and casual, and the make-up artist had an extra-light touch, and soon I'm going to be fed a fabulous lunch. AND tomorrow I get a whole day off here, which is great. I need to find a cheap place to go get my nails done. And my arms waxed (HELLLLLOOO, Miss TMI! We've MISSED YOU!!!)

Dear julie,

Welcome to my hometown! Where are you staying, so we can make recommendations of what to visit?

If downtown, take a ferry ride to Bainbridge (as a walk-on passenger), walk through downtown to the San Carlos (Great drinks!), Cafe Nola's, or Shima's. Stagger back to the ferry dock and enjoy the view home.

Best wishes,
Grace

Any chance you'll visit Canada? It is beautiful up here, any season. I hear Toronto is the new NYC. I'm a Montrealer myself and think you need to visit some of our lovely haunts.

Have a great premiere!

Julie,
If someone would have told me five years ago I would be reading books for fun I would have said,"Are you high?". I just finished your book, you are a fucking Rock Star!!!! It was a blast to read and I almost couldn't set it down. Great job, super fun!!! Will you be doing any appearances in the Midwest? Stevi:)

Welcome to Seattle, Julie. If you get a chance, visit Elliot Bay Bookstore -- great place (I bought your book there...). Head down to Pike Place Market if you get a chance..all of the fresh ingredients will make your head spin. Enjoy the beautiful Seattle weather - all of us locals are!!

What a perfect weekend to pick for a Seattle visit! Honestly, whatever you decide to do will be a great idea. I love the Arctic Club Hotel's Polar Bar; small, atmospheric, and the front desk keeps collars in bell jars. Creepy/cool and they'll make a mean gimlet.

If you do come out to Bainbridge, let me know, we can get drinks.

Also you should try the little French restaurant Le Pichet, which may not be the "best" restaurant in the city but is certainly my favorite. Love, love, love that place.
