Better Late than Never, DC...

All you out there in our murder and otherwise capitol of the nation, I'm going to be be at Olsson's Books at 2111 Wilson Blvd (okay, it's actually in Arlington, my mistake...) at 7 tonight for your listening, heckling, and book-be-signing pleasure.

I'm also going to be on tour all next week, with stops in Denver, Nashville, St. Louis, Raleigh-Durham and Miami. I'll post the details, along with a quiz with prize, once I stop being hung over.

We just read your book in our bookgroup. Normally we have a dish-to-pass and bring dishes that go along with the theme of the book. This time we decided to cook some of the dishes from MtAoFC.

We made the potato and leek soup, the potato and cheese sticks, stuffed tomatoes, and salad nicoise. For dessert we had crepes and for drinks, gimlets, of course. We were a bit limited in choices as one of the members is a vegetarian. I was a bit bummed as it would have been fun to tackle the boeuf bourguignonne.

Anyhew, it all went pretty well, no major glitches, but we still ended up eating around 10 p.m., most of us half-baked on vodka gimlets and wine.

Anyway, I see from your latest entry that you're on tour. Should you ever find yourself wandering around the Ithaca, New York area, we'd love to meet you and cook you a decent meal. We so loved your gumption, wit, and foul language. Rock on.

Next, England? Any chance of you visiting international shores? Not that I'm bisaed in any way you understand but a visit to London would be most welcome by me and I'm sure your other UK followers! We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Yeiks!!!! Completely forgot about the shortbread I'm cooking - I got engrossed reading your blog and I can smell it (slightly burning)! Gotta Go!!

Darn! I read your blog two days too late. I would have loved to have gotten my book signed by you.

A fan in DC.

BTW - I don't believe DC is the murder capital anymore. I think Detroit gets that honor now but I'm not positive.
