...but no. Forgive me, I'm a little fried.
So the event at Natick, MA was a dinner, recipes from MtAoFC at Maxwell's 148. Beet and Potato Salad, Gnocchi with Cheese, Swordfish Provencale, and Apple Upside Down Cake. It was all quite lovely - a small event, so I got to talk to everybody, which is nice.
I have to say I was sort of dreading it. Natick is a real strip mall sort of place. Actual suburbia, which I realize I haven't spent much time in. But the restaurant was beautiful, and the people who coughed up the $75 to attend were very enthusiastic and fun. A book group of about 8, a quartet of women friends plus another trio, and two couples - a younger one who had reason to sympathize with my stupid Syndrome Worries, and a slightly older one who seemed to enjoy me even though - as they let me know in the comments today - they're actually sympathetic to the conservative cause. Hear hear to open thinking! Even when I can't do it!
I am not really very interested in falling into political chatter, but I would like to just say - I have no problem with conservatives, or even - despite my upbringing - with Jesus lovers. I hate evil people. Not all Republicans are evil, but in my experience, most evil people are Republican. Including, unfortunately, most of the people running the country.
That's my incredibly deep and insightful political commentary for the day. Feel free to appropriate as needed.
